Play Cluedo Game - How to Play Cluedo Game and Where to Play Clue Online Free

If you are a fan of the classic board game but have forgotten how to play Cluedo game I have written a brief summary of the game rules. Cluedo also known as Clue is a mystery detective game normally for 2 to 6 people to play. It is suitable for 8 year olds and up. The rules are simple and it only takes about 5 minutes to set up. This is a turn based dice game. But this doesn't mean this is a game of luck, as it does require skills of deduction and elimination plus a certain amount of deception like poker. This makes it enjoyable for both children and adults.

How to Play Cluedo

Classic Clue starts with the murder of a Mr. Boddy at his Tudor Mansion. The aim of the game is to work out which room, with which weapon and by who the murder was committed. The variables involved in the investigation are the 9 rooms of the Tudor mansion, the 6 occupants of the house at the time the crime occurred and 6 possible weapons found around the house. To set up the Cluedo board game the cards are separated into the variables i.e. rooms, suspects and weapons. The cards are shuffled and without looking at them, one card from each of these 3 piles is selected at random and placed in the envelope. The aim is now for everyone to be the first to work out by elimination exactly what those 3 cards are. The rest of the cards are shuffled together and dealt out between the players. You also each get a detective notebook which is a checklist of all the cards. You have to tick off the cards you have in your hand. Next place the 6 weapons in the following places:

Play Cluedo Game - How to Play Cluedo Game and Where to Play Clue Online Free

Dagger in the lounge Rope in the ballroom Lead Piping in the conservatory Candlestick in the dining room Revolver in the study Spanner/Wrench in the kitchen The other 3 of the 9 rooms of the board are: Hall, Billiard Room and Library. Then place the colored pieces to represent the 6 suspects on their corresponding color spots on the board. You play which ever character piece is nearest to you. The 6 characters or suspects and colors are normally:

Red for Miss Scarlet
White for Mrs White
Yellow for Colonel Mustard
Green for Reverend Green
Purple for Professor Plum
And Blue for Mrs Peacock

Now to play Cluedo game all the players roll the dice and the person with the highest roll of the dice starts first. Everyone then takes it in turns going round clockwise, to roll the dice and move the corresponding number of spaces on the board. The aim is to get into a room. When you are in a room you can make your suggestion, for example "I think it was Professor Plum in the Kitchen with the Rope". When you make your suggestion you must move the relevant pieces into the room you are suggesting. You put this theory to the person on your left. They then have to disprove it by showing you (only) one of the cards in you have suggested, so that you may tick it off your checklist. If he/she doesn't have any of the 3 cards in your theory you move onto the next person along. If he/she has any of them he/she must show you only one. If a person puts a theory to you, you must always show a card if you have it, but you only have to show them one. You can make a suggestion including cards you have in your hand, in order to eliminate other cards. This is also a good way of bluffing the other players as to your line of inquiry! Eventually, you will be able to make a definite suggestion as to what the 3 cards in the envelope are. But the aim is to be the first to do it. As you can see the Clue game rules are very simple and so you can pick up how to play Cluedo game very quickly. You'll find that it is an enjoyable game with many hours of fun.

Card Games to Play Alone

One of the greatest things about card games is that you do not need anyone else to play a great game. There are a range of card games that you can play alone. All you need is a simple pack of cards and you can keep yourself busy for hours playing classic solitary card games.

The most popular one person card game is solitaire. There are many different versions of solitaire. You can easily play any of them with a deck of cards. Most people know the simple version of Solitaire. It is a classic game that is often passed down through families as older members teach younger members of the family how to play.

The classic solitaire game is played by laying out rows of cards. You then have to use the remaining deck to try to clear all the cards. You must match cards by color and suit to make a sequence of cards ranging from the ace to the king. It may seem simple, but anyone can tell you that winning a game of solitaire can be challenging.

Card Games to Play Alone

In the different variations of solitaire, the main differences usually are in the lay outs of the spread. Most versions still following the general matching rules of the classic game. Some have special rules or may match the cards differently.

Free Cell is a version of solitaire where all the cards are laid out from the start into piles of all cards face up. You are given 4 free cells where you can place cards that you need to move. The object is still to match cards, alternating colors, following in order from ace to king. This is often considered one of the harder versions of the game.

Many of the newer solitaire games are now available on computer. This allows you to play without even the need for a deck of cards. You do not need to know the layout because the computer games do it all for you. You can easily learn how to play new games since the computer games are often made to make learning the game simple.

Playing card games by yourself is a great way to kill time. Plus you do not have to find someone to play with. You can put together a solitaire game and play all day. You'd probably be surprised at just how fun solitaire can be. Most people think it would be boring, but once you get started you get drawn into the challenge of trying to win. Most solitaire games are very challenging and winning is not easy at all.

Solitaire card games allow you to have a fun time using just a deck of cards. No matter where you are you can put together a game to entertain yourself. With all the different variations you can spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to win them all. In addition, your brain gets a nice workout from trying to solve the game. All around, playing card games all by yourself is something that is fun and educational.

How Are Video Games Made - The Process From Start to Finish

It's time to answer that oh-so important question that's been burning in the back of your mind: "how are video games made?" Here is a very basic run down of how video games are made.

1. Core Team

A group of people whom come up with the general concept of the game. Numerous meetings will occur in which the group brainstorms about the game; figuring out not only how it will look, but also how it will work. The core team is in charge of the production schedule as well, which describes the tasks each person is assigned and when they most do them.

How Are Video Games Made - The Process From Start to Finish

2. Game Breakdown

Every detail, task, job, and deadline about the video game is broken down into components and then added to a bulletin board. This board acts as the nerve center throughout the games production.

3. Artistic Concept

Artists sketch out the games characters & backgrounds with a very basic level of detail. These sketches are what the graphics artists use to create the characters and backgrounds in 3D on the computer.

4. Development Team

This team uses the latest in computer animation technology to bring life to all of the game's elements; adding colors, textures, shading, and even movement. This team uses the 3d characters and backgrounds created by the graphics team.

5. Programming & Engineering

This is the bread & butter of the game development stage; because without this part, there would be no game. Suffice it to say, the programmers & engineers make the game work. Their coding is what holds the game together and allows the player to actually play the game.

6. Testing

This is the final and most crucial part of the development process. This phase is to see if everything is working properly and as it should be. Testers will check for bugs and glitches and try to find potential problems.

The game testers won't merely be playing the game and seeing if problems will find them -- it's the other way around, as THEY will be the ones searching for the problems. The testers will do everything and anything possible in the game to ensure there is no abnormal situations or circumstances; walking through walls, disappearing, enemy AI problems, cinematic errors, you name it. If the testers miss ANYTHING, it could mean disastrous consequences -- in the form of profit loss -- for the company releasing the game.

Educational Classroom Games - Wheel of Fortune

GREAT GAME

Wheel of fortune

A useful tool to have for playing educational games in the classroom is a Sticky Ball. A Sticky Ball is a small plastic ball that is covered with miniature suction cups. These balls are ideal for playing target games on your classroom boards.

Educational Classroom Games - Wheel of Fortune

Wheel of Fortune is just one of the many fun games a teacher can play with their students to review concepts taught in class.

1) Divide the class into two teams.

2) Draw a giant wheel on the board and divide it up into 6-8 pie slices.

3) Make half the pie slices worth points (i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4)

4) The other sections are what add fun to the game. How you label them is up to you. However, here are some of the fan favourites.

- Bankrupt (Team loses all their points)

- Switch (Teams switch point totals)

- Cha-cha (Team must do the Cha-cha dance)

- Bow (Team must bow to their opponents)

- Kiss the Pig (Team must blow a kiss to a pig drawn on the board)

5) Begin play by choosing a player from each team and asking them a question from the lesson.

6) Once students have answered their question they go to the toss line and toss the Sticky Ball toward the target.

7) The game continues as long as you want and the team with the most point at the end of the last round is victorious.

If you want to make the game more competitive and move along more quickly only ask one question to the pair of students and allow the student who answers first to toss from a closer toss line.

Board Games for Family Fun and Healthy Interaction

Laughter and playful chatter can be heard emanating from the dining room, where a table is surrounded with family and friends. A closer look shows that the meal is over, dishes cleared and everyone is engaged in the fun of playing a board game. Board games that challenge your knowledge. Board games that require marble movement based on the randomness di roll. Handcrafted or mass produced board games have long been a catalyst bringing people together for a healthy mix of fun, education and conversation.

It is the group dynamics of face-to-face, around the table interaction that makes board games the continued choice for all ages. Good old 'analog' table-talk provides all the elements of getting to know and understand people in your family and in your circle of friends.

Board games that challenge your knowledge and are sometimes best played in teams. Games like Trivial Pursuit, Cranium and Scrabble fall into this realm of testing ones mental agility, knowledge, recall or deductive talents. Board games that appeal to a broader age group might offer some element of randomness, like the roll of dice, while exercising your strategic and tactical skills. Popular board games like Trouble (also called Aggravation, Tarbles and Wahoo), checkers, or Monopoly are more family oriented, since young children to senior adults can play together.

Board Games for Family Fun and Healthy Interaction

So how do you choose the game that appeals to your family? Will complement your next friendly gathering?

1) often the simplest games will be the ones that you bring out most often when family or friends gather. Experiment here with 2 or 3 choices. Even mix it up with two different games in a evening.

2) let the reaction from the participants be the measure of approval. Having fun, good natured banter and laughter, are all indicators of an excellent group. If you sense tension, uneasiness or otherwise unhealthy group dynamics, this is could be an indicator to stop, change games or somehow alter the game play.

3) It is all about generating Fun and good conversation and encouragement for everyone playing the game. Remember "it is only a game'. It's not about wining or losing. Good board games will even draw in observers, those non-participants that gather along the fringe.

4) Good memories and conversation about past played games is always a good indictor that you have a 'winner" of a game.

5) a board game should be portable and mobile, no batteries required and adaptable to play at home, at the cottage or while travelling.

6) Having a handcrafted board game that is hand built by a friend or family member can also add that special touch of a 'traditional family game'.

7) Board games that elicit future challenges, like, "Great game, we'll win the next time", or "That was just the warming-up game, now prepare to lose", are good indicators of a board game worth playing again and again.

As with the advent of any new technological innovation, it was predicted that computer video games would all but eliminate the analog board game market. Not so. Board games still enjoy plenty of playtime. Most board games have transformed into alternate digital formats. Games like Scrabble, Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, Cranium, The Game of Life are in the top 10 of board games in the USA. Some of these are now online as well - Scrabble, Clue, checkers, chess, sorry, risk, monopoly are a few.

There is something charming about a locally crafted board game. Variations of old board games like Hasbro's Pop-o-matic Trouble and Milton Bradley's Aggravation have surfaced as handcrafted wooden Marble Board Games like Tarbles (from Cape Breton Island) and Wahoo. These lovingly crafted marble board games are a great family gift. Steeped in memories of wonderful family times, handcrafted board games become heirlooms passed on to future generations for their playing pleasure.

Board Games are perfect for playing at home, at the cottage or on the road. They bring people together for fun and create warm and lasting memories of family gatherings. Memories cherished by all ages. Memories that will surely bring a smile to your face.

Girlfriend Getaways - Six Tips For Planning Your Next Trip With the Girls

Between the responsibilities of family and work, sometimes a woman just needs to get away! If you've been looking to book some vacation time with your favorite group of gal pals, you're in luck. There are a lot of different ways to enjoy a girlfriend getaway. With a little planning, you could be just weeks away from your next vacation with friends.

1. Before you start planning, figure out what kind of trip you want to take. Are these fellow moms who need some time to be pampered? Are you seeing old friends for the first time in years? Is someone celebrating a birthday? All of these occasions call for a different type of get together.

2. Take a poll of your fellow travelers to figure out what each person wants out of the experience. Some may be looking for a weekend full of drinks, games and good times. Others may want a relaxing spa weekend. If you're lucky, everyone will be looking for the same type of experience. But if that doesn't happen, you can come up with some activities that will meet everyone's needs. As long as you cover all of the bases, each of the members of your party will get what they are looking for.

Girlfriend Getaways - Six Tips For Planning Your Next Trip With the Girls

3. If your friends aren't sure what they are looking for, offer them some ideas. You could have a craft/scrapbooking weekend, a mountain retreat to a cabin, a few days at the beach, a spa getaway or a tropical vacation, just to mention a few. Send a formal poll out with these options or others to gauge interest for the weekend.

4. Figure out how far you want to travel and how much you want to spend. The price and distance are going to be a big factor in who can come and how far in advance you need to plan the trip. Don't be discouraged if you all can't take the cruise you've dreamed about. You can have just as much fun by visiting the next town over, or traveling by train to a tourist destination. If you're meeting with a group of old friends, it might be better to stay local and visit all of the old places you used to go together.

5. Along with setting a location and a budget, figure out how the finances will be handled. You can save a lot of money by buying package deals at hotels, rental houses and other common vacation destinations. If you aren't interested in sharing a room together, you can rent a house that has a common area and individual rooms. This way you can each have your own space but still keep costs low.

6. Many different locations and travel agencies now offer girlfriend getaways, women's weekends and other similar packages. These often cover room, board and activities. These packages offer discounts on all of the parts of your trip so that you can save money. Browse through options from different travel agencies to see if something suits your needs.

5 Top Games Kids Can Play While Camping

The great outdoors gives kids a whole new perspective on the types of games they can play to pass the lazy days of summer. Here are 5 top games kids can play while camping. They'll be talking about all the fun they had for weeks to come!

1. Obstacle Course
Obstacle courses are always a fun way to expend some energy and enjoy the outdoors. This game can be played by children of all ages. Using what is already in the campsite, create a fun obstacle course, keeping in mind the ages of the children who will be playing. Use camp chairs, firewood, the tent, trees, picnic table, and anything else you like to set up the course. Once you've specified what each person has to do to get through the course, set a timer and get started. For older children, perhaps they would have to answer a riddle in addition to the physical requirements in order to go on to the next area of the obstacle course. At the end, have prizes such as cookies, fruit, or lollies for the winners.

2. Tag
A classic game that never loses its appeal is good, old-fashioned tag. All ages can play, making it ideal for several people to participate (adults can play too!). During the day, simply designate a location as "base" and then choose someone to be "it". You know the rest, yes? Flashlight tag is a fun activity at night, but perhaps would only be safe for older children. One person is "it" with the flashlight. If they tag someone with the light, that person is "it". Just be sure the area in which the children are playing is free of potential hazards.

3. Scavenger Hunt
What kid doesn't enjoy hunting for and finding things? Create a scavenger hunt for your kids using stuff in the campsite, campground, or things you might find on the hiking trail. It can be a short list, or a long list that would take the entire day. The level of difficulty should be age-appropriate for the kids participating. Prizes are a must at the end of the hunt!

4. Stories Around the Campfire
Everyone likes a good story, so why not encourage your children to use their imagination and create their own original story? An adult can start the story with a brief few sentences and then the next person adds to the story. The story can be funny, serious, or scary - whatever you choose. It may be useful to set some guidelines for the older children so that the younger ones aren't up all night!

5. Rainy Day Camping Games
It's almost inevitable that you'll have at least one rainy or inclement day while camping. Plan to bring a few decks of cards for Rummy, Go Fish, or Solitaire. UNO is another great card game that the whole family can play together. If you have room, plan to bring a few board games to play under the canopy or inside the tent if the weather isn't cooperating. The Alphabet Game is fun too. One person begins by saying, "I'm going on a camping trip and I'm going to bring an apple." The next person has to repeat what the first person said and then add their own item that begins with the letter "B" and so forth. This game has the potential to make everyone laugh hysterically!
