Frustration Game

Have you ever been frustrated in your life for losing a game? Perhaps you had but, even if you had not been, you will when you play the Frustration Game. There is a bit of twist in this. Being frustrated when another players kicks you out of the space you were occupying is the reason why this game is a lot of fun. You can make your revenge on your opponent by the turn of the dice.

Although this board game had been around since 1965 when Peter Pan Playthings Ltd first manufactured it, it has been given more and more features to increase the interest in the board game. It is now being manufactured by MB Games.

Board Games

It is a board game that is played by two or three or four players. A player has to be the first one who can move four counters around the playing track to the finishing area to be called the winner of the Frustration Game.

Frustration Game

Four players get four different colours each. You can choose orange, green, blue, or yellow for your character. You can get "whacked" when another player lands on the space where one of your counters is placed. Unless you get the powers of the Genie, you cannot be whacked and your counter is securely saved from that. These four "frustrated" characters, the popping die at the centre, and the Slam-o-matic feature, are the latest innovations of the Frustration Game. To start playing, you should get a 6 on the die. If not, you lose your turn and another player pops the die.

The fun begins each time a player is "whacked" or when you cannot get the number 6 on the die and you keep losing your turn to start playing. When a player makes it to send all of his counters to the right finishing area, the game is over.

Your kids and you will surely like playing the Frustration Game for the sake of fun. Keep encouraging your kids to strive for the best. Lead your kids to earn the powers of the Genie who will save them from being "sent home".

Grammar activities and games make learning about grammar fun for students. And why shouldn't learning be fun? Here are four grammar activities and games:

Grammar Activities and Games - Tic Tac Toe Grammar

Board Games

For this fun grammar activity, you can either draw a giant tic tac toe board on your blackboard or make some in advance. In each square of the grid, you need to put a sentence with a blank where the verb must be. If your students can fill in the blank with a verb of the proper tense, then they get an X. The trick with this game is that the teacher must check the answers as the game goes on (which can be a problem when you have a large group of students divided into pairs.)

You can also use this tic tac toe method to practice other parts of grammar, as well. You can have your students put the given sentence in past tense, finish a sentence correctly, etc.

This grammar activity is slightly more advanced. Divide your class into groups and tell them what auctions are and how they work. Then allot each group a certain amount of "money" or points and tell them that they want to bid only on correct sentences. You then auction off sentences, both correct and incorrect ones. Whichever group ends up with the most correct sentences wins.

For this game you need to draw a "maze" and print it out for each student. Students all start at the start space at the same time. You then read a sentence. If the sentence is correct, the students take the dotted line out of the start space and to the next space. If the sentence is incorrect, they take the bold line to the next space. Then you read another students and if it is correct, the students take the dotted line, etc. Eventually, if the student has correctly answered all sentences, she wins (all correct students will win at the same time).

Give each of your students a word. Give some students subject nouns, others should get verbs, and some should get verbs (more advanced classes can have adverbs, prepositions, etc.) Then have your students go about the classroom and find at least two other students that they can make a sentence with. When everyone has found a sentence to be a part of, read the sentences to the class, and then do it all over again!

Mnemonic devices are the learning techniques to improve short-term or even long-term memory. A memorizing aid, the memory device is used to make memorization very easy and simple. Mnemonics for Numerical Sequences

Long and hard-to-remember digits can be best memorized by mnemonic devices. The most common technique is using the number of letters in each word. Foreign languages are new and hard to pick up but mnemonic devices work like a magic while learning them and make the process very easy. You can learn the language by adapting the hard to remember foreign word in to a pre-existent phrase in your native language. If you are learning Spanish, estar is the word for, to be. Now to remember the word estar you can easily memorize it as "to be a star". By this way, you can not only remember the word but also the meaning of the word effectively.

Mnemonics for Long-Term Memory

Mnemonic system for long-term memory works on two methods. The first one is loci where the things to be remembered are associated with landmarks or locations whereas the other method is peg-word. In peg-word method, rhyming words are used to enhance the memory. For example the sequence of numbers from 1 to 10 can be remembered as one-bun, two-shoe and so on. All the nursery rhymes are mnemonic devices for long-term memory.
